TigerTradeBot 1.0: What's in It

July 10, 2026 · TigerTradeBot Team · announcements

TigerTradeBot 1.0.0 is the first build with a version number of its own, stamped on July 10, 2026, after a year of development that started as a command-line bot in July 2025. The release notes list everything in it. Here’s the short version.

What’s in 1.0

  • Paper trading on a built-in simulator: orders are simulated against live market data, and nothing is sent to a broker. Every new bot instance starts in Paper mode.
  • Backtesting and the Strategy Lab: backtests, a parameter optimizer, preset comparison, walk-forward validation across time segments, and overfitting warnings, so you can throw out weak ideas before they cost you anything.
  • Strategy Designer: a visual rule builder, plus an AI assistant that drafts a strategy from a conversation and critiques it.
  • Broker connections: Charles Schwab, Alpaca and Polymarket, with Webull in beta. Credentials stay on your computer, in TigerTradeBot’s local configuration database. Interactive Brokers isn’t supported for trading yet.
  • AI copilot that explains strategies, analyzes results, and answers questions about your data. It works with local models on any OpenAI-compatible server (LM Studio, Ollama and similar) or with your own API key for a cloud provider. It assists and explains; it does not predict markets or tell you what to trade.
  • Reporting: trade journals, performance reports, and tax exports including a Form 8949-style CSV.
  • Risk controls: a circuit breaker with daily loss limits, stop-loss and take-profit exits, and position sizing rules.

Strategy work runs on your computer, and your trading data stays there.

Start with the free license

You don’t need to pay to try any of this. The free paper-trading license lasts 12 months, one per email address, with no card required. It’s paper trading only: orders are simulated, and nothing is sent to a broker. When the 12 months end, a Lite or Ultimate subscription keeps TigerTradeBot running. The free license can’t be renewed or claimed again with the same email.

That’s deliberate. We built TigerTradeBot around a learn-first approach: test your ideas, break them in backtests, run them on paper, and only then decide whether live trading makes sense for you. Most strategies fail testing. Finding that out on paper is the cheapest lesson in trading.

When you’re ready, and only then, live trading is a paid subscription (see current pricing).

One thing 1.0 does not change: trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. No software changes that, including ours.
