Privacy Policy

This document is a plain-English draft and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before being relied upon.

The short version: TigerTradeBot is local-first software. Your trading data lives on your computer, not on our servers. This policy describes the data we do handle, where, and why. It covers the TigerTradeBot software and the tigertradebot.com website, both operated by TigerCodes, LLC (“we”, “us”). Licenses, the customer portal and checkout are run by TigerLicense, our license server at api.tigercodes.com, which TigerCodes, LLC also operates.

The software

Your trading data stays local. Strategies, backtest results, trade history, journals, broker credentials and settings are stored in TigerTradeBot’s databases on your computer. The software doesn’t upload them to us, and we keep no server-side copy of them.

Broker credentials stay on your computer. They are stored in TigerTradeBot’s local configuration database, not in your operating system’s credential store. Once the software has generated its encryption key on your computer, sensitive values are encrypted (AES-256-GCM); the key is kept in the same data folder. Credentials are never sent to us. When you connect a broker, your computer talks to that broker directly, and what you exchange with it is governed by the broker’s privacy policy.

AI runs where you configure it. With a local model, AI processing happens on your hardware. If you configure a cloud AI provider with your own API key, the content you send (which may include strategy details and trading data) goes to that provider under its privacy terms. We are not in that data path either way.

No usage analytics. The software doesn’t send usage analytics or crash reports. It does contact our license server for the following:

  • License checks, when the software starts and then once a day, and update checks, once a day. These send your license key and license file, a hashed hardware identifier (derived from your computer’s name, network hardware addresses and hardware ID), your computer’s name and local network addresses, and the software’s version, platform and a checksum of its program files. They don’t include your trading data.
  • Announcements and the community strategy catalog, fetched from the license server. You can turn the catalog off in Settings.
  • Community outcome sharing, only if you turn it on: win and loss counts for the community strategies you run. No trade details.
  • Bug reports and support tickets you choose to send, with whatever you write. A bug report can include a recent excerpt of the software’s log if you attach one.

Licenses, checkout and the customer portal

When you get a free license or subscribe, we hold your email address, your licenses and their status, your orders and, if you set one up, your customer portal account. To prove you own an email address, we send it a one-time code. Payments are processed by Stripe; card details go to Stripe and never touch our systems. License, verification and account emails are delivered by Resend, our email provider.

The pricing page on tigertradebot.com loads TigerLicense’s signup form from api.tigercodes.com. What you enter in that form goes to TigerLicense, and, for a paid plan, to Stripe Checkout.

We retain licensing and order records for as long as your account exists, plus any period required for tax and accounting law.

The website

No analytics or tracking. The website doesn’t use analytics, advertising trackers, or cross-site cookies, and we don’t fingerprint visitors.

Contact form and support email. If you write to us, we receive what you send: typically your name, your email address and your message. Messages from the contact form are delivered to our inbox by Resend, which processes them for that purpose. We use your message to reply and to fix whatever you reported, keep the thread for support history, and don’t add you to marketing lists you didn’t ask for. To stop abuse, the form uses a short-lived signed token, and our server logs only a keyed hash of your IP address, not the address itself.

What we don’t do

  • We do not sell or rent personal data.
  • We do not share personal data with third parties except our payment processor (Stripe), our email provider (Resend), our hosting and infrastructure providers, and where the law compels us.
  • We do not train AI models on your data.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold. Since the personal data we hold is licensing, account and correspondence data, requests are usually simple: email support@tigertradebot.com and we’ll act on it within 30 days. For your trading data, you already have full custody: it’s on your computer.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we’ll note it on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
