Risk Disclosure
This document is a plain-English draft and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before being relied upon.
Trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. Please read this entire page before connecting a live account.
In plain English
You can lose money — potentially a lot of it. Markets move against positions. Losses are a normal, expected part of trading, and there is no strategy, indicator, tool, or software — including TigerTradeBot — that removes that risk. Only trade with money you can afford to lose entirely.
Leverage multiplies everything. Margin, futures, options, and short positions can produce losses larger than the amount you put in. If you don’t fully understand how a leveraged instrument loses money, don’t trade it.
Automation has its own failure modes. Software adds risks that manual trading doesn’t have:
- Bugs — in your strategy logic, in TigerTradeBot, in a broker’s API, or in the interactions between them. Bugs in trading software can place wrong orders, wrong sizes, or no orders at all.
- Connectivity — your internet, your machine, a broker’s servers, or a data feed can fail at any moment, including with positions open. An automated strategy that loses its connection can’t manage its own risk.
- Slippage and liquidity — real orders fill at real prices, which are frequently worse than the price that triggered them, especially in fast or thin markets.
- Speed — automation can compound a mistake faster than you can react. TigerTradeBot’s risk controls and kill switch reduce this risk; they cannot eliminate it, and they depend on working connectivity to act.
Simulated results are not live results. Paper trading and backtesting differ from live trading in ways that matter: simulated fills don’t compete for liquidity, historical tests can be overfit to the past, costs and slippage are estimates, and — honestly — you behave differently when the money is real. Simulated performance, however long or impressive, does not indicate future live results.
No advice, no guarantees. TigerTradeBot is software. It does not give investment, legal, or tax advice, and neither does its AI copilot — the copilot explains and analyzes; it does not predict markets. Nothing on this site or in the app is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Any decision to trade, and every trade you make, is yours alone. We make no representation that any user will achieve results of any kind.
Our strong recommendation: paper trade any strategy — and the platform itself — for an extended period before committing real money. The free 12-month paper-trading license exists so that you can do this at no cost.
Formal disclosure
- General risk of loss. Trading securities, derivatives, cryptocurrencies, and prediction-market contracts involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. You may lose some or all of your invested capital, and with leveraged instruments, more than your invested capital.
- No investment advice. TigerCodes, LLC (“we”), which makes TigerTradeBot, is a software provider. We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, commodity trading advisor, or fiduciary, and we are not registered as any of the foregoing. Nothing in the software, documentation, or website constitutes investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice, or a recommendation or solicitation regarding any security or instrument.
- Hypothetical and simulated performance. Backtested and paper-trading results are hypothetical. They are prepared with the benefit of hindsight, do not represent actual trading, may not reflect the impact of market factors such as liquidity, and frequently differ sharply from subsequent live results. No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve results similar to any simulated results shown.
- Automated trading risks. Automated systems are subject to failures of software, hardware, and communication networks, including defects in user-created strategies. Such failures may result in unintended orders, unexecuted orders, duplicated orders, or the inability to modify or cancel orders. You are solely responsible for monitoring any automated strategy you run and for the configuration of all risk controls.
- Third-party dependencies. Order execution, market data, and account services are provided by third-party brokers and venues under your separate agreements with them. We do not control and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, execution quality, or solvency.
- Past performance. Past performance, whether actual or simulated, is not indicative of future results.
- Suitability. You are solely responsible for determining whether any instrument, strategy, or transaction is appropriate for your financial situation, objectives, and risk tolerance, and for compliance with the laws of your jurisdiction. If in doubt, consult a qualified, licensed financial professional.
- Acknowledgment. By enabling live trading you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclosure and accept these risks.
