Reporting Overview
Trade journals, performance reports, tax exports including a Form 8949-style CSV, and CSV, PDF and XLSX exports, all generated on your computer.
The Reports section of the navigation turns your trading history, paper and live, into journals, performance reports and exports. Everything is generated on your computer from your own data.
Trade journals
- Trade Journal: closed trades for a bot, with the details of each entry and exit.
- Trade Journal (All Bots): every bot’s trades in one place. Export XLSX produces a workbook with sheets for trades, entry criteria, exit criteria, guards, indicators and coverage (plus settings at entry, if you include them).
- Trade Analysis: patterns across closed trades, with optional AI review.
A journal is only useful if it’s complete, including the experiments that went badly.
Performance
Performance and Performance Reports show results such as win rate, profit factor, maximum drawdown, win/loss ratio, and fees and commissions. Paper and live results are kept apart. Comparing them is one of the most useful things you can do: a live strategy underperforming its paper twin usually means your fill assumptions were optimistic.
A few metrics that are commonly misread:
- Profit factor: gross gains divided by gross losses. Sensitive to a few large trades; check it alongside the trade count.
- Max drawdown: the largest peak-to-trough decline in the period. It’s history, not a floor: live drawdowns can exceed anything in your history.
- Win rate: meaningless on its own. A high win rate with large average losses can still lose money.
Note: No number in these reports predicts future performance. They describe what happened, so you can decide what to test next.
Taxes
Taxes → Tax exports offers:
- Annual Tax Summary (CSV or PDF)
- Closed Lots and Open Lots (Year-End)
- Form 8949-style CSV. It is not an official IRS form: it’s estimated from TigerTradeBot’s execution records. Wash sales are detected and flagged, not adjusted.
- Generate Accountant Package (ZIP), which bundles the exports
These are bookkeeping aids, not tax advice. Your broker’s forms (such as a 1099-B) are authoritative: reconcile against them, and consult a tax professional for anything nontrivial.
Exports
The Exports page produces the Trade Journal, a Monthly Report and a Yearly Report as CSV or PDF, so your data works in spreadsheets or anything else you prefer.
